Indiana’s Story Cottage is a Creative and Innovative Residential Solution for Families Caring for Loved Ones with Memory Loss

After years of researching the very best memory care models throughout the country, the concept of Story Cottage was launched in July 2019 when the doors of Indiana’s first Cottage opened in Indianapolis just south of the picturesque William’s Creek in Meridian Kessler. Two years later, Story Cottage at Carey Road opened its doors in Carmel, nestled among the trees in the Maple Acres addition. The newest Story Cottage opened in February, 2023, just across from the Villages of West Clay – on Main Street in Carmel.

Story Cottage provides a beautiful and safe home-like environment with unparalleled care, provided by Senior Home Companions). With just 8 to 10 residents in each home, the residents receive personal, individualized care — in a beautiful cottage home nestled in convenient neighborhoods.

Our Story Cottage at Meridian Hills, Indianapolis, and the Story Cottages in Carmel at Carey Grove and West Clay, are exclusive memory care residences with a staffing ratio unheard of in most memory care communities. And abundant engagement activities help our residents to remain stimulated and involved. Personalized compassionate care in a warm environment — that’s what makes Story Cottage different!

Indianapolis Memory Care in an Exclusive, Intimate Home Environment

Memory care patients are most comfortable in environments that are smaller and predictable. Story Cottage provides an intimate residence where your loved one will be stimulated by activities and companionship.

Custom built with your loved one’s comfort and safety in mind, we have carefully considered and designed the interior to beautifully feel like home.

Our memory care homes only have eight to 10 bedrooms. Your loved one will benefit from continuous personalized care and the city’s smallest resident-to-caregiver ratio (4:1).

Multiple spaces, such as private rooms to share a meal, a sunroom and a library, will meet the needs of your loved one as they socialize with other residents and participate in planned activities.
