At Senior Home Companions and Story Cottage, we know that some of the best career journeys begin with a single opportunity. For Ashlee Kent, that opportunity came in 2022 with one agency shift that would ultimately shape her future.

That shift was at Story Cottage at Carey Grove.
From the very beginning, Ashlee stood out through her reliability, positive attitude, and commitment to providing exceptional care. Whether she was engaging with residents, supporting her team, or simply showing up ready to make a difference, she consistently demonstrated the heart of a Story Cottage caregiver.
Over the next two years, Ashlee maintained a strong relationship with Story Cottage, earning the respect and trust of those around her through her dedication and work ethic.
Then, in 2024, another opportunity presented itself.
During a visit to Story Cottage at West Clay, Executive Director Diane Kohan personally recruited Ashlee to join the team as a Lead Caregiver. It was a natural next step for someone who had already proven her passion for serving residents and supporting their families.
Ashlee embraced the role, continuing to grow both personally and professionally. Her ability to connect with people, communicate with compassion, and represent Story Cottage's mission soon opened another exciting door.
Today, Ashlee serves as our Marketing & Sales Assistant, where she combines her firsthand caregiving experience with her passion for helping others.

Having cared for residents herself, Ashlee understands the emotions families experience when searching for memory care. That perspective allows her to connect with families on a deeper level, offering not only information but also empathy, reassurance, and guidance during an important chapter of their lives.
